This place is located inbetween Beretania Times and Epi-Ya bakery and shares the same parking lot. I came here for a Chinese club event where we took up 5 tables for a 7 course meal. Since I was here w a Chinese club, we had exceptional service. I learned that the owner Michael is the former owner of Wah Kung that was at 99 ranch. The items that we had was: Kayuk- came w Taro, the flavor of the dish was so good, this was my favorite dish Sweet & Sour pork - this was good but nothing spectacular. Mountain Yam and black fungus - many enjoyed this vegetarian dish. I found the yam to be slimy but was told that's how it's supposed to be. Spinach w Twin egg - this came with duck egg yolk and traditional Chinese black egg. My older relatives enjoyed this dish. I thought it was interesting as I never dared to eat a black egg until today. Shanghainese thick noodle - like an udon noodle and was great to share Abalone w black mushrooms - I'm normally not an abalone fan, but this was ono w black mushrooms Lamb - thinly cut meat and this was great w veggies This was a nice place to eat with a lot of parking. The food was wonderful and the service was good.

Eat on time, not really. The door sign was flashing open, but doors were locked. The doors open a few minutes after 11 o'clock. We were greeted, and we mentioned that we were here for the buffet. She explained that they had problems with the buffet station. This was the second time here to try their buffet. Well, maybe the third time will be the charm. We decided to go family style. We ordered walnut shrimp, capital pork chops, chow funn, chicken ong choi on cake noodles and eggplant with tofu. All the food was flavorful, and the potion size was good. The only fault with the food was the cake noodles. It was drowning in sauce. There was no crisp textue to it. Overall service was good.

Update on Eat on Time I been here now about 3 times . Once for a birthday and the other to try their lunch buffet and today their lunch buffet. Twice I came and their lunch buffet was not available. I've been told that their steamer that holds all the food pans is broken . That was the same problem the last time I was told ? So at this point I may never experience their lunch Buffett which they advertised $19.99 from 11:00am - 5:00pm . I will give them a try one more time but if I'm not successful next time I guess I'll need to boycott this restaurant lol . Don't get me wrong I love their food it's very tasty and the portion are pretty good compared to most Chinese restaurants . Although I look forward in eating their buffet and everytime it's not available. Support local and thanks for letting me vent lol

I've seen this place before while taking my aunty for a grocery run at Times or banking at American Savings Bank but have never been until we went as a large group on Father's Day for lunch. My uncle and his wife really enjoyed this place so they decided to bring a bunch of us for a meal. Wow, the food was amazing but they ordered way too much. We had two tables with all of this food. My favorite by far was the seafood platter we got as the appetizer. Tons of cold, fresh salmon and hamachi sashimi, shrimp, crab legs, the works really. Service was great, once the food started rolling out, it didn't stop. The restaurant looks deceptively small from the outside but when you walk in there are quite a few tables and lots of space. The only thing I didn't really enjoy was the red bean soup at the end of the meal, it wasn't my favorite but I was super full by then so I didn't eat much of it. I'm not the biggest fan of Chinese food but this place was awesome, I highly recommend!

Today was Kamehameha Day, so I met up with Paul and Roberto for lunch. They've been here before for dinner, but it was my first time. We decided to try the lunch buffet. There were about twelve items on the buffet warmers. Chow fun and fried rice were the starches. The fried item was the gau gee. The entrees were mapo tofu, sweet sour spareribs, beef broccoli, sweet sour pork, salt and pepper fish fillet, eggplant with garlic sauce, stir fried chicken with veggies and Chinese fried chicken. My favorite item was the sweet sour spareribs. I love those no matter where I'm at. It was a little sweeter here and not enough acidity from pineapples. The fried fish fillets had a crispy breading and the fillets were moist. The chow fun had that char taste from the wok hei. It just needed more soy sauce. Before I knew what was happening Roberto picked up the tab. Thank you so much. Always fun times with these guys.

***4.5 STARS*** Don't judge a book by its cover. In this case, it's more like don't judge a restaurant by its name. Eat on Time (ET). That's the name of a Chinese restaurant. Totally not what would I have imagined the owners chose. When I first heard the buzz Donna O. created with ET, which led to Auntie (Nadine C.) post yummy looking pics on social media. I was curious to try but didn't want to take that plunge with my family members. But recently, a pair of February babies decided to have a joint get together and the birthday girl chose ET. Located in the same shopping complex with Beretania Times, Epi-Ya Bakery, Grace's Inn and Sushi You, ET is a Chinese restaurant that offers a decent selection of Cantonese cuisine, fresh seafood, and Chinese hotpot. Compared to past experiences of dining at new restaurants, I didn't really study the menu ahead of time. I was one of the last attendees in our group of 10 to arrive and I took on the role of ordering. Interesting enough, the wait staff didn't speak Cantonese but spoke both Mandarin and English. I decided to go conservative and not order any exotic dishes, as well as be economical as fresh, live seafood can easily rack up your bill. To be auspicious, I intentionally ordered 8 dishes, and here is what we sampled: JINGDU RIBS (5/5) This is also known as Capital Style Pork Chops, a popular sweet and sour dish. This was executed well and many of us commented on the flavorful sauce. The meat was very tender and delicious. Honey Walnut Shrimp (5/5) I saw Auntie's take out photo previously and noticed the generous serving and large shrimp. Hands down, this was also another winner amongst us. The batter coating was minimal and loved the exterior crunch. The shrimp just had enough of the sweet mayo sauce. The candied walnuts on the bottom were also fresh and crunchy. Crispy Skin Chicken (4.5/5) I initially was planning on ordering chicken wings but after seeing the price and doing the math, I decided to go economical by getting a whole chicken. It was deep fried nicely where you could enjoy the crispy skin and the seasoned salt was offered on the side. This also worked out well because some people enjoy white meat, and some enjoy dark meat. And me, I enjoy the boney pieces, so it all worked out. Ong Choy w/ Garlic Sauce (4/5) This popular veggie dish was executed well as you could taste the wok hei. I usually don't like to add meat to this dish as you need to balance your overall meal. However, it was seasoned a tad bit too heavy to my liking. Sliced Lamb w/ Leeks (4.5/5) This dish also showcased the chef's wok hei skills as both lamb and leeks were tossed in the wok at high heat for that smokey flavor. This dish was seasoned well, and the leeks kept its al dente texture and vibrant green color. Salt and Pepper Squid (1.5/5) This dish fell flat with me. The squid lacked the crispy exterior coating that I was looking for and the salt and pepper flavor didn't shine. I also noticed this dish was piping hot and when eating deep fried foods after it cooled down, it doesn't taste good. House Special Noodles (4/5) In celebration of 2 birthdays, of course I had to order noodles for long life. I'm not a fan of e-mein so it was a no-brainer for me to get crispy noodles with assorted meats and veggies. This dish was also executed well but seasoned too heavy to my taste. I saw myself wanting the exterior areas with barely any gravy and wanted the crunch. Eggplant w/ Tofu (4.5/5) I was happily surprised the chef didn't use premade deep-fried tofu for this dish. Soft tofu was deep fried and then braised with a nice savory sauce with fried eggplant and wood ear fungus. Loved the rich and savory gravy. I would be a happy camper with this eggplant dish and a bowl of rice. However, once again the chef seasoned this a tad bit too heavy to my taste. Service was okay but could have been better. I noticed several of my dining mates drank all their iced water and the wait staff failed to replenish our glasses on their own. I witnessed a pair of wait staff standing in the middle of the dining room chatting. I didn't hesitate to interrupt them for water refills. Overall, a very pleasant first experience at ET where I wouldn't mind coming back for more. The food quality exceeded my expectations and would be game to sample more items from their menu. NOTES: 1) One of our friends baked a cake and the staff refrigerated it prior to serving. 2) Staff also provided ceramic plates and metal forks for us to use to eat the cake. A cake fee was not assessed to our bill. 2023 #15

Celebrated 2 birthdays at this Chinese restaurant. Located in the same parking lot with the bakery epi ya and times supermarket. The food was good. Thank you my friend and fellow yelper Paul C. to do all the ordering of the food. With good foods and good friends it was very enjoyable. The best dish for me was the on Choi with fried garlic, the salt and pepper chicken, eggplant and tofu, but all in all all the food was good but those were my favorite that night. It's always nice to see Nadine C, Peter Y, Donna O, Allen N, Craig T, Gabriel P, and Paul C. Also a new person I met Jules Y. Hope to get together soon. Support them if you in the area.

I just back into the US a few days before my first group meal and it was set at Eat on Time. The restaurant itself was easy to find as they are located in the same lot as Times on Beretania right before Safeway on the corner of Beretania and Piikoi. The private lot is shared with other establishments and Times but I was able to find parking right away when I arrived. When you enter, the restaurant is well lit with fun looking lights hanging from the ceiling that look like upside down artichokes. They have many tables and they can accomplish small, medium and large groups. Customer service was friendly but we had to ask them to refill water. The kitchen was quick to bring out our orders as the place wasn't super busy but timing of each dish coming out was perfect. Paul C ordered and boy, he ordered a feast. We had honey walnut shrimp (by far my favorite dish of the night...I'm surprised as I'm not the biggest fan of the dish), ong choy, fried calamari, sweet and sour pork/ribs, lamb with leeks, eggplant with fried tofu, cake noodles with just about everything as a topping and salt & pepper chicken. The food was good! Since I never knew this Chinese restaurant existed, I wasn't sure what to expect but it exceeded my expectations on the food here. We were here to celebrate Nadine C's birthday but apparently we also celebrated mine too. I want to thank Paul C, Donna O, Craig T, Deborah P, Gabriel P, Allen N, Jules Y and Peter Y for an amazing dinner and for all the treats! Also, Happy Birthday to my Lunch Buddy! This was a great welcome back home and an amazing start to a milestone birthday. You guys are the best and 8 stars to each and everyone of you! 8 is a lucky number in Chinese culture and I chose this vs 10 for prosperity due to CNY

Takeout lunch in Honolulu, Hawaii... I had read reviews by Andy F. and Donna O. I told myself that I will dine here one day... Well... I did takeout because my family likes to stay home - most times. Haha! Located between Times Supermarket and Epi-ya Bakery, the shared parking lot is busy, but manageable. Service is straightforward and helpful. I noticed the karaoke microphones and asked about them. I was encouraged to sing right away, but I couldn't figure out how to find English songs... Haha! I ordered the lamb with onions as Donna recommended. The meat was sliced thinly and didn't have a gamey taste! My brother-in-law even ate it... Because he didn't know it was lamb! My mom noticed the celery in it... She likes vegetables! I got the beef with bitter melon for my mom. She liked it because the bitter melon wasn't mushy! The braised E- min was good! I liked the way the paper container was lined with foil so that the noodles wouldn't stick to the container! The Orange chicken was tender and tasty! I was pleasantly surprised! The green beans were nice and garlicy! Very flavorful and fresh! The winner was the Honey Walnut shrimp on a bed of crunchy walnuts! They had a thin breading and a slight crisp! They weren't smothered in mayo! Yummy! I liked the environment a lot! I would like to return with a group and maybe try the hotpot!
